Conductometric method for the analysis of polymer dispersions of bitumen insulation materials

Abstract:

Early studies established that the complex of physical and mechanical properties of bitumen polymer materials significantly depends on the dispersed state of polymers in solvents. in this regard, to assess the degree of distribution of the components of the polymer system of bituminous materials by the quantitative and dispersed states of polymers in solvents, the conductometric method of dispersion analysis was used using the coulter-counter particle distribution counter of the TAII model of the company "IDF Production" (Great Britain). the determination of the dispersion by the conductometric method is based on the measurement of the electrical resistance at the time of passage of the calibrated micro-holes by the particles. to determine the particle sizes of the dispersed system, a working aperture (tube) with a size of 140 microns was used, while the working volume of the sample was 0.5 ml. the solvent and electrolyte were selected, cleaned from mechanical impurities and dedusting by filtration
