Abstract:

Gas-to-liquids (GTL) technology is a combination of chemical reactions for the conversion of natural gas (GHG) into higher hydrocarbons (HC), fuels and chemical products. With the help of this technology, it is possible to process GHG into a variety of products — from ethylene and α-olefins to solid paraffin. The synthetic diesel fraction is an important result of this technology. The diesel fraction has priority over petroleum diesel fuel in terms of environmental and operational functions. The open possibilities of this technology allow us to develop the gas resources of the planet, and a significant share of the extracted GHG will be processed into synthetic hydrocarbons in the near future. The construction and use of enterprises for processing gas into liquid products directly in the field areas is much cheaper.
