This paper considers the problem of searching for hard-to-recover oil reserves in previously unexploited horizons and tiers at the unique Romashkinskoye field. During the research, processing and reinterpretation of geological and geophysical material were made. The selected core was analyzed. The object of the study is the Bureg (formerly Mendym) horizon. The nature of the distribution of the reservoir, identified as a promising reserve for replenishment of oil resources, is nonuniformity
