The markovskoye field, located in Western Siberia, is one of the most important facilities of the Russian gas industry. This tutorial presents the main stages of designing a gas distribution station (GDS) for this field. The mechanical calculation of a gas pipeline branch includes determining the pipeline wall thickness and checking its strength taking into account working loads, pressure and properties of the pipe material. The physical properties of natural gas are analyzed to understand its thermodynamic characteristics, including density, molecular weight, critical temperature and pressure, as well as calculating the Wobbe index. The gas pressure at the GDS inlet is calculated taking into account the volume and mass flow rate of gas, as well as hydraulic losses in the gas pipeline. The calculation of a dead-end branched medium-pressure network allows determining the optimal pipe diameters and pressure distribution in the network to ensure a stable and reliable supply of gas to consumers. The process flow diagram, equipment operation and GDS layout describe the main components of the station, including gas purification, pressure reduction, flow metering and idolization. Particular attention is paid to the selection of a pressure regulator, which ensures automatic maintenance of the specified parameters.
Keywords: gas pipeline, physical properties of gas, gas distribution station, dead-end network, pressure regulator, equipment layout.
