TECHNOLOGICAL CALCULATION OF A VACUUM COLUMN

This article presents a process calculation of a vacuum column used for fuel oil processing. The main attention is paid to the compilation of the material and heat balance of the column, as well as to the determination of key equipment parameters. Within the framework of the material balance, the mass fractions of the processed products are determined: vacuum gas oil, tar and decomposition gases. The heat balance is calculated for individual phases and sections of the column, excess heat flow is identified. Also, the steam velocity, diameters of the upper and lower parts of the column, as well as the hydraulic resistance of the packing are calculated. A comparison of conventional and modernized packing in terms of pressure drop is considered.
