Резюме:

The study of the reservoir pore space is a critically important step for assessing filtration and capacity properties and predicting the productivity of oil reservoirs. This paper analyzes modern methods for determining pore size distribution, including mercury porometry, nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray tomography, gas adsorption, electron microscopy, as well as semipermeable membrane and centrifugation methods in order to generalize experience in the field of pore size studies of core samples. For each method, the physical principles, operating ranges, advantages and limitations are considered. As a result of the comparative analysis, a matrix of methods for estimating the pore size distribution was compiled, taking into account the size, integrity of the sample, advantages and disadvantages. The analysis revealed that the key criteria for choosing a porosity analysis method are the target range of pore sizes, the required information (quantitative and/or visual) and the permissible degree of exposure to the sample.

Keywords: pore-size distribution, core analysis methods, filtration and capacity properties, porometry
