STUDY OF THE HYDROCARBON COMPOSITION OF HEAVY PYROLYSIS RESINS BY PULSED NUCLEAR MAGNETIC SPECTROSCOPY

One of the ways to effectively use a large‑volume and yet scarce binding material such as bitumen is to widely introduce bitumen emulsions in water into road and civil construction practice. The technology for producing emulsified bitumens has a number of significant advantages compared to traditional “hot” technologies and the use of petroleum solvents. First of all, it is an energy‑saving technology that does not require heating the components to high temperatures, which is directly related to reducing emissions into the atmosphere — both combustion products and solvent vapors. Bitumen emulsions (BE) can be used with moist mineral material at lower temperatures, which reduces the dependence of work on weather conditions, thereby extending the construction season. The low viscosity of BE allows the binder to be distributed more evenly across the entire surface of mineral materials, which leads to improved dosing accuracy and reduced consumption. The high adhesion capacity of BE, the speed of layer formation, and the possibility of maximally mechanizing many processes make water‑bitumen emulsions (WBE) the most technologically advanced type of organic binder material. In solving the problems related to the development of technology for the production of VBE that meets modern requirements, petrochemical products are also used. In this aspect, heavy resins from the pyrolysis of hydrocarbon raw materials are of interest; currently, they are a by‑product and need to be used rationally. The composition and physicochemical properties of heavy resins from the pyrolysis of gasoline, ethane, and propane‑butane fractions, which are generated as large‑scale waste at JSC “Kazanorgsintez” (OTPS), were studied. and JSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” (NTPS), the characteristics and fractional composition of which are presented in table 1 and 2, respectively. Samples with different depths of light fraction extraction and, consequently, with different boiling point start temperatures were obtained by preliminary atmospheric distillation of the original TPS.
