Abstract:

The object of the study is a composite pipeline. Oil pollution has a serious impact on the environment and living organisms. One of the main consequences of oil pollution is water pollution. Oil and petroleum products form a film on the surface of water, which prevents oxygen from reaching aquatic organisms, fish and other animals. In addition, the chemicals in oil can penetrate into soil and groundwater, resulting in long-term contamination of ecosystems. Oil pollution also has negative impacts on plant life. Contact with oil can lead to the death of plants, as well as disruption of photosynthesis and nutrient uptake. The aim of the work is to evaluate the environmental friendliness of composite pipelines application. To achieve this goal, the hydraulic impact of fiberglass and steel pipelines was calculated. According to experts´ estimation the cause of pipeline destruction in 60% of cases is hydraulic shock. According to the calculation results it was found out that the velocity of pressure wave propagation and maximum pressure of hydraulic shock in fiberglass pipeline is almost 2 times lower than in steel pipeline.
